Director, Business Development
The Williamson Group is a fast paced professional services firm specializing in Employee Benefits Management, Pension Planning, Retirement and Estate Planning. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Director, Business Development .
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the position will be responsible for pursuing opportunities to obtain new clients and assisting in activities related to closing new accounts. The incumbent will act as the primary driver and initial contact in marketing campaigns by contacting the appropriate decision makers at all businesses that have been identified in the targeted market and within the timing specified.
Responsibilities:
- Develop prospect leads and obtain appointments with potential clients through existing networks and specific marketing campaigns
- Some cold calling will also be required
- Coordinate resources from TWG to follow up with prospective clients
- Prepare proposals and presentations to maximize a positive impact on potential clients.
- Maintain a prospect database
- Participate in developing Business Development Plans
- Attend sales calls
- Other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time at the Company’s discretion
- Achieve budgetary targets and goals
Key Attributes:
- Minimum High School graduation. Relevant college degree or equivalent preferred
- Computer literacy with a solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, PPT, and Client Relationship Management
- Relevant Insurance Industry experience preferred
- A very high level of ability to remain focused, objective and fully motivated when confronted by negative reactions from those being contacted
- Ability to remain highly organized and focused on objectives
- A high level of ability to quickly establish and maintain positive relationships with potential clients and co-workers.
- Good written and superior verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to conflicting and changing deadlines and priorities
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
- The ability and commitment to take full ownership, responsibility and accountability
- Knowledge of Group Benefits
- Good analytical skills
- Commitment to “continuous improvement” and skills development
