This position is responsible for providing superior relationship management and guidance for mid-to-large group clients. As an experienced Principal Consultant, the incumbent will provide strong thought leadership and expertise in the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives for Employee Benefit plans. 
 
JOB DUTIES:
 
Include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and provide client specific strategies to ensure ongoing competitive plan design and concepts; 
  • Provide ongoing education, support and guidance to established clients;
  • Develop and maintain strong client and carrier relationships;
  • Meet with clients to present quarterly experience, financial reporting, marketing and renewal presentations; 
  • Responsible for overall management of carrier marketing’s including presenting and recommending best carrier option to client;
  • Recommend and design plan options that best balances client’s need for a cost effective benefit plan with appropriate funding of the plan;
  • Prepare recommendations, analysis and costing prior to and during union negotiations.  Review contract agreements and guide the preparation of amendments following collective agreement negotiations;
  • Direct activities of the service team according to client needs;
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within block of clients

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years in the Employee Benefits industry;
  • University Degree
  • Individual Life License (LLQP)
  • GBA, CEBS designation preferred

COMPENTENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven track record in managing a complex block of business, providing strategic advice in financial plan management and plan design;
  • Proven experience managing a complex block of business;
  • Advance knowledge in Flex benefits;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM; 
  • Proficient in written/spoken French an asset

OTHER

  • Maintenance of valid driver’s license;
  • Regular local travel will be required.
  • Periodic air travel
